The VLT floor
At Red Shores Summerside, VLTs are the only machines on the gaming floor. The letters mean video lottery terminal, a screen game operated under the lottery. Summerside Raceway
Summerside Raceway was established in 1886 and is believed to be Canada's oldest continuously raced horse track. It runs live harness racing. On race days the Race Office opens 2 hours before post time, and the race-day phone is extension 4118 at 902-888-5666.
Should the visit fall on a day with no live racing at Summerside Raceway, simulcast betting is still available. Betting on races shown from other tracks keeps to the gaming floor schedule. From Sunday through Thursday that runs from 11 am until 11 pm; Friday and Saturday hours are 11 am until 1 am.
The West End Bar & Grill
The West End Bar & Grill serves as the full-service casual bar and restaurant at Red Shores Summerside. Its doors are open daily, 11 am until 8 pm. Note that the kitchen closes well ahead of the gaming floor, which stays open until 11 pm Sunday through Thursday, with a 1 am close on Friday and Saturday.
