Charlottetown hours
At Red Shores in Charlottetown, the slot machines switch on at 11 am each day. Closing comes at 1 am Sunday through Wednesday, and at 2 am Thursday through Saturday. Races from other tracks play on the screens of the Simulcast Theatre, where wagers on them are accepted every day from 11 am until midnight.
The tables follow their own timetable. Blackjack, Ultimate Texas Hold'em and baccarat begin at noon on Sunday, Friday and Saturday, and at 4 pm from Monday through Thursday. Poker gets going at 6 pm on Thursdays and Fridays, with a 4 pm start on Saturdays, and roulette spins from 6 pm Thursday through Saturday. Every table runs until close, and the casino posts no clock time for it. Should a late hand be in the plans, the Charlottetown main line, 902-620-4222, can confirm.
Summerside hours
The gaming floor at Red Shores at Summerside offers video lottery terminals (VLTs) only, with no slots, tables or poker published. The floor opens daily at 11 am. Closing is 11 pm Sunday through Thursday, and 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays. Simulcast betting follows those same hours. If tables or poker are the aim, the Charlottetown property is the one to visit.
Kitchen hours
In Charlottetown, O'Brien's Social Bar & Kitchen sits on the lower level and opens daily at 11 am. It closes at 8 pm Sunday through Wednesday, and at 10 pm Thursday through Saturday. At Red's, Sunday to Wednesday hours are 4 pm to 10 pm; from Thursday to Saturday the doors are open 11 am to midnight. Top of the Park offers Sunday brunch and a race-night buffet, though no hours are posted for it. Tables at the Charlottetown restaurants are booked by phone only, at 902-620-4264.
Should a Thursday arrival fall after 10 pm, Red's still serves under its posted hours until midnight. Over in Summerside, West End Bar & Grill welcomes guests daily, 11 am to 8 pm, and can be reached at 902-436-8203.
