The slot floor
More than 150 slots fill the Charlottetown floor, ranging from traditional reel slots to video slots. From Sunday through Wednesday the slots run 11 am to 1 am, while Thursday through Saturday play continues until 2 am after an 11 am start. Every time given is local Atlantic time.
Should you plan a late visit, treat the closing hour as belonging to the previous night. Saturday's 2 am close actually lands early on Sunday morning, and a Wednesday's 1 am close lands early on Thursday. The Island concierge desk found no published holiday schedule for either hall, so before a holiday visit look at redshores.ca or ring the main line at 902-620-4222.

The Table Games room
In the private Table Games room, the dealers run blackjack, baccarat and Ultimate Texas Hold'em. Ultimate Texas Hold'em, a poker-based table game, pits each player against the dealer rather than against fellow players. These three games begin at noon on Sunday, Friday and Saturday. On weekdays from Monday through Thursday, the first deal comes at 4 pm.
Every table runs until close, a close for which the casino posts no clock time. If you need to know for a particular night, ask the main line at 902-620-4222. Red Shores publishes neither the table count nor table minimums. Poker and roulette follow a separate schedule, shown below.
Poker and roulette nights
Poker gets under way at 6 pm on Thursdays and Fridays, while the Saturday game begins earlier, at 4 pm. Roulette opens at 6 pm each night, Thursday through Saturday. Both games go on until close, and the casino posts no clock time for the end of play.
Should your visit fall between Sunday and Wednesday, neither poker nor roulette is offered. Blackjack, Ultimate Texas Hold'em and baccarat still run, from noon on Sunday and from 4 pm Monday to Wednesday.
The racetrack
Charlottetown Driving Park, the racetrack at Red Shores Charlottetown, was established in 1888. It runs live harness racing with pari-mutuel betting. Pari-mutuel means that all bets on a race go into a shared pool. Spectators can follow the races from a climate-controlled grandstand.
Daily from 11 am to midnight, the Simulcast Theatre screens races run at other tracks and accepts bets on them. Those hours hold whether or not live racing is on that day. All times are local Atlantic time. Race dates appear on the official racing page at redshores.ca. Should you come on a Charlottetown race day, the Race Office opens 3 hours before post time.
Where to eat
Top of the Park looks out over the Driving Park, with Sunday brunch and a race-night buffet. The lower level holds O'Brien's Social Bar & Kitchen, honouring Joe O'Brien, who is in the PEI Hall of Fame as a horseman. It opens at 11 am daily, closing at 8 pm Sunday to Wednesday and at 10 pm Thursday to Saturday. For a meal outdoors, the Trackside Patio sits beside the track.
Red's offers Italian-inspired comfort food and a 14-foot screen. Sunday to Wednesday, it serves from 4 pm until 10 pm; Thursday to Saturday, its doors stay open 11 am until midnight. Should you want a table, the Charlottetown restaurants take bookings by phone only, at 902-620-4264.

Is there poker on a Wednesday?
Poker is not offered on a Wednesday. It runs on Thursday and Friday from 6 pm and on Saturday from 4 pm. On a Wednesday, blackjack, Ultimate Texas Hold'em and baccarat start at 4 pm.
When do the tables close?
All tables run until close, and the casino posts no clock time for that close. The main line, 902-620-4222, can answer on the night.
Can a table at Top of the Park be booked online?
Restaurant bookings at Red Shores Charlottetown are by phone only, at 902-620-4264. An online booking is not offered.
How old must guests be?
The gaming floors are for people 19 and older. Atlantic Lottery also requires players to be 19 or older to purchase, play or redeem its products.
